WHAT HAPPENS IN ENGLISH CLUB? Games! Stories! Conversations! Fun!!!! WELCOME TO THE CLUBHOUSE ROOM! We begin each Club meeting with personalized Q&A cards. The quick and easy tasks help build confidence. Then we might do a survey, for example about activities that we like to do. Kids learn natural, conversational responses, like “yup”, “nope” and “kinda”. Card games are very popular and help build vocabulary. We play Uno with high frequency words, Spot-It Zoo, Gramtet, and Pictionary Air. Some kids enjoy Story Asking, a technique of rapid questions and answers that builds speaking fluency and listening accuracy. The displays are interactive, and there are many places where kids can draw and write. They like to leave messages for their friends. HOW IS IT DIFFERENT FROM LESSONS AT SCHOOL? Small groups: 2-4 kids Relaxed atmosphere No books! Personalized topics according to interests Individual attention from a pro teacher English Club activities are designed to complement the school curriculum. Kids can practice what they are learning and get effective feedback on grammar and pronunciation. Vocabulary building is at the heart of Club activities. Kids in English Club Level 1 are working towards CEFR Level A1. This requires an active vocabulary of 500-700 words. English Club provides kids a safe space to explore English and take risks without worrying about "the right answer." WHO IS THE TEACHER? It's me, Teacher Beth. I'm a qualified and experienced teacher, and native speaker of English from the USA. I've been teaching English in Prague for more than 20 years! I have taught a wide range of ages and levels, in firms and at schools, teacher training and exam courses. HOW CAN I BE SURE? Contact me and book 2 free lessons!
